Affiliations and Accreditations

In the State of Florida, are no regulations governing home inspectors, nor any specific licensing required. Absent of any State regulation, consumers must rely on professional associations to help guide their selection of a home inspector.

The largest and most prestigious home inspector organization in the United States is The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Following ASHI, The Florida Association of Business Inspectors (FABI) is the largest professional organization in Florida. Both organizations require passing a written examination (see for more details), and a minimum number of paid inspections as part of the membership application. Annual membership maintenance requires 20 hours of continuing education credits. Both organizations subscribe to the same Standards of Practice and similar Code of Ethics. These codes prrovide guidelines for inspections and professional conduct for an inspector.

I proud to be a full Member of ASHI (Member # 210908) and FABI (Registered Professional Inspector # 0485). I have worked hard to achieve and maintain these professional accreditations. In addition to membership in these professional organizations, I received formal classroom training at Inspection Training Associates' (ITA) Tampa classroom, and field apprentice training with Florida's largest inspection firm Federal Building Inspections, in Boca Raton (acquired in 2002 by Inspectech, the largest non-franchised home inspection company in the US). To continuously update my education and enhance my skills, I attend professionally sponsored training seminars. With this background and training, I will stack my credentials against any other home inspector.

My training, background and business practice should provide you with the confidence you need to select Beach to Bayou as your preferred home inspector.
