True or False? The life protection device that is required around wet areas is called a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFI or GFCI, for short). This component is the same as an Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter.
Answer:
FALSE - The GFI devices designed to protect against shock hazard around wet locations is different from the new Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFI).

AFIs are designed to prevent electrical fires, caused by electrical arcing. Arc Fault protection has been required to protect electrical circuits in bedrooms since 2002.
