HOLIDAY FUN
December 20, 2004

Introduction:
As the year draws to a close, Kate and I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. We, at Beach to Bayou, thank you for your continued support and look forward serving your inspection needs for another great year in 2005. Next year, the Question of the Week, will start by discussing how the changes to FAR-8 will effect home inspections and what licensing changes are on Florida's horizon. But for this week, let's have a little fun with Holiday trivia...

Question:
True or False? Of Santa Claus' nine tiny reindeer (eight original plus Rudolph), two have undergone name changes.
Answer:
TRUE - According to Snopes.com, in the 1823 poem, "The Night Before Christmas", the last two of Santa's reindeer were named Dunder and Blixem. But in today's popular song "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", the last two reindeer are called Donner and Blitzen. No one is sure how the original Dunder and Blixem (Dutch for Thunder and Lightning),became Donner and Blitzen (German translation), but during the Yuletide Season, Donner and Blitzen have certainly become the overwhelming popular names.
